Effective Date: June 16, 2026
Career Labs ("Career Labs," "we," "us," or "our") provides interview practice, coaching, and related account features. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have.

Audio and speech data
- Microphone access is used so you can answer interview questions in live interview sessions
- Speech recognition access is used to convert your spoken answers into text
- Depending on platform behavior, speech recognition may be handled by Apple services on your device or through Apple-managed speech processing
We do not currently store a permanent raw audio library for your interview answers on our backend. We do store the transcript segments and related interview outputs generated from those sessions.
Notifications
- If you enable notifications, we collect a push notification device token from Apple so we can deliver alerts such as when an interview report or career path is ready, credit and subscription updates, and optional practice reminders
- You can turn notification categories on or off in the app, or disable notifications entirely in iOS Settings
Subscriptions and payments
- Career Labs Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through in-app purchase. We do not receive or store your payment card details
- We receive and store your subscription status and related transaction identifiers from Apple (for example product, purchase and expiration dates, and renewal state) so we can unlock Pro features and manage your credit allotment
Technical and operational information
- Device, app, and network data reasonably necessary to authenticate you, deliver the service, secure the product, and troubleshoot issues
- Internal request, response, and operational monitoring records used for debugging, abuse prevention, and service reliability

- interview report generation
- panel speech synthesis
- career path generation and step coaching
To provide those features, we may send relevant user content to OpenAI, including resume text, job posting text, career goals, current situation, education or certification preferences, prep answers, transcript content, interview context, career path notes, coach messages, and related prompts required to produce the feature you requested.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only as reasonably necessary to operate the service, including with:
- OpenAI for AI-powered features described above

- Email and infrastructure providers we use for authentication, hosting, storage, logging, and service delivery
- Legal or regulatory authorities if required by law, lawful process, or to protect rights, safety, and the service
6. Data retention
We retain data according to the category of information and the purpose for which it was collected.
Our current default retention approach is:
- Account records: retained while your account is active
- Magic-link tokens: expire after 20 minutes and are targeted for cleanup after 30 days if used or expired
- Resume files and extracted text: retained until you delete the resume or your account
- Interview labs, prep guides, sessions, transcripts, and reports: retained until you delete the lab or your account
- Career path labs, routes, steps, notes, and coach messages: retained until you delete the career path lab or your account
- Local device data such as access tokens and locally stored prep drafts: remain on your device until sign-out, deletion, or app uninstall unless explicitly cleared sooner
- Usage and billing records: retained for up to 24 months unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, dispute handling, accounting, tax, or legal compliance
- Short-lived monitoring or debugging records: retained only for a limited operational window and not intended as permanent account history
- Backups: deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited restoration window, typically 30 to 35 days
