Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Career Labs. By accessing or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Operator

Career Labs is operated by:

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms and must use the service only in compliance with applicable law.

You are responsible for:

• using an email address you control
• maintaining the security of your device and sign-in links
• all activity under your account

Career Labs currently uses passwordless magic-link sign-in. Do not share sign-in links or tokens with others.

3. The service

Career Labs provides interview-practice and career-planning tools, including resume-based interview lab generation, AI coaching, prep workflows, live mock interview experiences, transcripts, coaching reports, career path labs, route planning, step tracking, and career-path coach messages.

We may change, suspend, improve, remove, or reconfigure features at any time, especially during beta-stage or early-product operation.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive purposes
• upload content you do not have the right to use
• impersonate another person or organization
• interfere with or disrupt the service
• reverse engineer, scrape, or systematically extract the service except as allowed by law
• attempt to probe or bypass security protections
• use the product to generate harmful, infringing, harassing, or malicious content

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe your use violates these Terms or creates risk for the service, users, or third parties.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you submit to the service, including resumes, job descriptions, prep drafts, interview responses, and related materials.

You grant Career Labs a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, and transmit your content solely as needed to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service features you use.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit your content and let us process it under these Terms.

6. AI outputs and disclaimers

Career Labs uses AI-generated outputs to provide labs, feedback, interview turns, reports, career path routes, step guidance, and career-planning responses. These outputs are assistive only.

You understand and agree that:

• AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate
• the service does not guarantee interview success, job outcomes, or hiring decisions
• the service does not guarantee admission to a school or program, certification, employment, salary, timeline, or career outcome
• school admissions, program requirements, certification rules, costs, dates, and job-market claims must be verified with official schools, certification bodies, employers, or other authoritative sources
• the service is not legal, employment, education, financial, medical, tax, or professional advice

You are responsible for reviewing and using outputs with judgment.

7. Subscriptions, credits, and billing

Career Labs offers a free tier and an auto-renewable subscription, Career Labs Pro.

• Free accounts include a limited number of generations (currently one interview lab, one full interview, and one career path). Continued or expanded use requires a subscription.
• Career Labs Pro is offered as a monthly or annual auto-renewable subscription. Current pricing is shown in the app before purchase and may also vary by region and over time.
• Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID / App Store account settings. Canceling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
• Pro includes a monthly allotment of in-app credits that are consumed by AI features. Credits and usage are displayed in the app. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and are not redeemable for money except where required by law.
• Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies and applicable law. We do not separately process App Store payments or refunds.

Pricing, credit allotments, and free-tier limits may change. Material changes will apply going forward and, where required, with notice.

8. Availability and beta status

Career Labs is provided on an "as available" basis. Features may change, degrade, or be interrupted. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or compatibility with every device or jurisdiction.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access at any time if:

• you violate these Terms
• your use creates legal, operational, or security risk
• we discontinue the service or a portion of it

Certain sections of these Terms, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute-related provisions, survive termination to the extent allowed by law.

10. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREER LABS IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREER LABS AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:

• THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR
• USD $100

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws below unless a required consumer-protection law says otherwise.

• Governing law: Laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there
• Venue: Courts located in Ontario, Canada, unless applicable law requires another forum

These dispute terms should be reviewed by counsel before broad public launch, especially if Career Labs is offered outside Canada.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you in-app, by email, or by another reasonable method. Continued use of the service after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
